A Crooked Willow Farms Wedding – Larkspur, Colorado Part 205.14.12

Just to be fair, I had to create a separate blog post on just the camels of Crooked Willow Farms.  They were so interested in Tamra and Matt and were almost like puppies!  It does look like Matt is having his hand munched on, but really I think it tickled!  No bride or groom was harmed in this sequence of photos!

Enjoy!

A Modern and Traditional Tea Ceremony – Denver, Colorado05.04.12

I hope you like magnificent colors!  Meet Caroline and Karng!  We decided to pull this wedding out of the wedding archives because not only is it one of our favorites, but the colors and traditional accents are amazing!  For a complete description of the events taking place, here is a link to view:  Traditional Tea Ceremony.

We first started at Caroline’s house where she was getting ready.  Karng and his were family were lined up outside, with Karng in front with his parents – waiting to receive the bride, presenting gifts and seeking permission to greet the bride (when the actual ceremony begins).  Caroline came down the stairs and accepted Karng’s gift (a bouquet) and they were presented to the altar of ancestors, asking permission to bless them. After the ceremony at Caroline’s house, we then went to Karng’s house for another tea ceremony.  Traditionally fruit, cakes, roasted pig and other items are presented.  After this second ceremony, we then proceeded to go downtown for a few fun portraits and then to the reception where Caroline and Karng shared a toast with each table.

Enjoy!

A Wedding at the Garden of the Gods Club, Colorado Springs, Colorado04.16.12

Meet Katie and Matt!  Katie and I hit it off right away when we met – she told me a hilarious story about how she used to be a Jazzercise instructor and upon the first time meeting his family, Matt asked her to teach a Jazzercise class to his whole family!  How cute is that?

Garden of the Gods Club has the most amazing view, it’s easily one of the most beautiful views a venue could have!  Stacy of Alexan Events expertly designed and coordinated the wedding and, truth-be-told, designed one of the most interesting salad bars we have ever seen! During the reception, the band never took a break and everyone literally was dancing right up until Katie and Matt departed!  What a day of celebration!

Enjoy!

A Wedding at the Sanctuary Golf Course, Sedalia, Colorado04.09.12

Meet Sylwia and James!  I just can’t tell you enough about how adorable they are – individually and together!  Sylwia shared with me that she would be about 6 months pregnant by the time her wedding day rolled around and that inside of their wedding cake, the baby’s sex would be revealed when they cut the cake!  How is that for a surprise!   You could feel the anticipation throughout the day!  I think Sylwia had an inkling on sex, though – since she chose a wonderful bright fushia color for her wedding colors!  Call it mother’s intuition?

Not a dry eye in the house as the cake was cut and the baby’s sex was revealed (a GIRL)!  After the cake cutting, James said to me that THAT EXACT MOMENT when they learned the sex of the baby was the most exciting and memorable moment of his life!

Enjoy!

A Cherry Creek Country Club Wedding, Denver03.28.12

Meet Lindsay and Andy!

I can’t even begin to tell you what a fun couple Lindsay and Andy are – I should just let the photos do the talking!  They had local band Opie Gone Bad perform and Lindsay’s father is a serious harmonica player!  He got up on stage and did a few songs with them – it was very cool!  The weather was touch and go for a while, but a smile never left Lindsay’s face!  I loved their bright colors (inspired by New Orleans) and, who has a daiquiri machine at a wedding anyway?  That was a first!  We had such a great time with them!

Enjoy!

Milestones and Much More….03.20.12

It’s just not wedding photography – it’s documenting the people that you LOVE!

We received a great email from the Mother of the Bride from a wedding we did back in May.  It reads “Paige, you took many wonderful pictures during Lindsey and Mike’s wedding, but you especially captured a great picture of my mother prior to the ceremony.  My mother was a real trooper by traveling hundreds of miles to attend her granddaughter’s wedding.  She is a special dear to Lindsey and our family.  We are looking forward to helping her celebrate her 100th birthday and we used the picture for the invitations to her birthday party, newspaper announcements and have even sent the photo to the Today show so Willard Scott will hopefully annouce her birthday during the show.  We have received so many great compliments on the picture.  This is such a great milestone to celebrate with her – and thank you for capturing her for the occasion.”
