Meet Jamee, she is a dear friend of mine and a fellow photographer. We’ve known each other for a very long time – we’ve both been sounding boards for ideas and creative processes and the challenges that come along with being business owners and artists! I have been honored by our friendship photographing Jamee’s wedding back in the day (film!!) along with fellow photographer Laura Esmond and also documented Jamee’s first pregnancy with Frankie. Now, she and Joe have #2, Max – due to enter this world any day now! Jamee sent me the most heartfelt message after viewing the photos, which honestly made me feel so very grateful! A few of her words: ”Wow, you have such a gift, thank you for letting me see me. I have never felt so beautiful.”
Enjoy!
When I travel, I’m always on the lookout for something special to bring back with me that will remind me of my trip. It can be as simple as a bag of sand from the beach, or something unique that I find along the way.
A year ago I went to New Orleans and it was love at first sight! I immediately felt so at home and loved the history, culture, architecture, lively atmosphere and of course, the food! On our last day there, as we were walking down Bourbon Street, I spied this piece of brick and grabbed a plastic bag and wrapped it up. I barely made it through security (those TSA agents were really shaking their heads after they screened my bag 3 times)….but, hey – I now have a little slice of NOLA in my home. You know what they say, one man’s junk is another man’s treasure!
Enjoy! (Doesn’t it look like a piece of raw meat or something?….. or at the very least a little bit radioactive?)….
After the tragic passing of Steve Jobs, I’ve read many articles on this incredible man. One paragraph, quoted below, will sit with me for a very long time:
“1990…….About this time, Jobs meets Laurene Powell, when he speaks at a class at Stanford business school. They exchange numbers. Jobs had a business dinner that night. ”I was in the parking lot, with the key in the car, and I thought to myself, If this is my last night on earth, would I rather spend it at a business meeting or with this woman? I ran across the parking lot, asked her if she’d have dinner with me. She said yes, we walked into town and we’ve been together ever since.”
Leave those dishes right there….
Don’t fold the laundry right now….
The mail can wait….
Plan that trip you’ve been putting off….Just go for it!
Hold your child close, kiss your husband with your all your being, tell your wife she looks beautiful, have that dinner with a friend you haven’t seen in a while, call your parents and catch up.
“time is the only true currency in life”…..
self portrait in Bimini:
Today, I proudly walked beside my sister in the Race for the Cure. It’s quite fitting that we took a new portrait of her today, with her short, sassy hair do. Honestly, I took 2 photos of her and we were done but, she’s quite possibly the most photogenic person on the planet!
Breast cancer touches everyone in some way – we must fight this disease with everything that we have! I urge you to donate what you can to the Race for the Cure or just make a lifestyle change for yourself in some way! Eat organic whenever possible, skip fast food and processed food, exercise – do something in order to prolong your life!
